What an amazing start to 2025. Thanks so much to everyone who came to my 50th birthday bash. It was absolutely epic, and I was blown away by how many of you came and amplified the field of love in the room! Special thanks to James B for bringing the dance music. 🎶
My old band PRO AUDIO had a successful and stupendously fun reboot. My childhood friend Ryan created awesome wizardry on the keys+guitar, JJ’s drumming was tight and fun, and my son Phoenix's harmonies and additional instrumentation was clutch. The band has been brought back to life, and I look forward to sharing more of our geek prog-rock with all you lovely people soon. (Phoenix and I might support Shanna in a Dress with a few opening numbers at her house concert April 7.)
Here’s a short clip reel from the party:
Many people asked for a link to the retrospective video of my first 50 years, so here you go:
And here's a link to my photo slideshow, with pics and artwork, from my youth to now.
But the most crazy thing from my party was that the night easily had TWO highlights! Before my band took the stage, I was completely stunned when Samantha Trouble (my wife Katie’s old alter ego) actually made an appearance after all — her first in 20 years. I will never forget her emerging from a cake, and proceeding to sing improvised songs for me.
Sammy T and her new musical comrade Madame Fox immediately got an invite to perform at another birthday party, and more is definitely to come, so stay tuned!
(Still on the hunt for videos anyone took of Pro Audio or Sammy ! Please upload to this shared album.)
There’s also been such a great treasure trove of new music already this year. Just in time for your spring break travels or hang outs, here’s 2+ hours of some of the best new tracks in my favorite genres. (Lots of mellow, heartful indie stuff this cycle!)
Enjoy and happy spring!
